The Last Party 2025 event, held in Licheń Stary (Poland) from January 3 to 5, has left Atari 8-bit computer enthusiasts with a new gem for their collection: "Rogül".
This fantasy game of the genre hack'n'slash / roguelike, developed by Wojtek "Bocianu" Bocianski (code, idea, and graphics) and Zdeněk "PG" Eisenhammer (music and sound effects), promises to immerse players in an epic adventure full of challenges and emotions.Players control the warrior Rogül, who must traverse ten lands oppressed by the minions of the demon Amalotolos. The mission is to reach the tenth dimension and defeat the tyrant in an unequal battle.

Throughout the adventure, players will face hundreds of increasingly difficult opponents and must use the terrain to their advantage to gain the upper hand. The game offers a variety of weapons and spells essential to overcome challenges. As players gain experience, they receive random rewards that help them develop their hero's skills. Additionally, they can find armor, weapons, spell scrolls, and other items lost by previous adventurers, which must be used strategically due to their limited availability.
"Rogül" features mysterious altars where players can worship ancient gods, who may reward them with small prizes or punish them capriciously. In certain dimensions, players will find medieval magic machines that exchange gold for useful items or spells, though each machine can only be used once.

In addition to melee combat, "Rogül" offers several types of ranged weapons that can be invaluable in many situations. However, players are limited by the number of arrows they can carry and their line of sight. Both of these characteristics can be improved, so managing experience points is crucial.
Spell scrolls and some magic potions will also be useful to achieve final victory. Rumor has it that powerful amulets with amazing properties can be found among the ruins, although no one has ever returned alive from the Cursed Realms to confirm this.

The game supports a two-button joystick (Joy2B+) and offers a cursor mode that allows players to select objects on the map to gain additional information. This mode makes it easier to access hero stats and equipment without the need to use the keyboard.
Last Party 2025, organized by experienced members of Tristesse, brought together Atari enthusiasts from all over the world. Since its first edition in 1997, Last Party has stood the test of time and remains a point of reference for Atari lovers.
