The fourth edition of the ATASCII Graphics Contest 2024 is here, with 16 main works and one in the Wild category (in color with sprites).
The creativity of the Atari 8-bit community has reached new levels in the fourth edition of the ATASCII Graphics Contest 2024; a contest promoted by renowned programmers Kamil "Gorgh" Trzaska (Poland) and Martin "Logiker" R. (Austria) to celebrate artistic ability, using 128 characters.
Voting is open to the public until Tuesday, October 29 at 6:00 p.m. CET. To vote, visit the official website, where you can assign a rating of 1 to 5 stars (or fractions of 1.0 to 5.0) to each work, considering the use of characters, colors, effort, originality and style.
The jury is made up of prominent artists and programmers from the retro scene:
- Stefan Vogt: creator of text adventures such as Hibernated and The Curse of Rabenstein, and an ANSI/ASCII expert.
- Wolfgang Bochar (wbochar) - Experienced BBS graphics artist for C64, Amiga and PC, with an active career in the scene.
- Lobo Spitoufs: Well-known artist in the C64 scene, contributor to multiple games and demos.
- Andy Zeidler (Shine): Founder of PETSCII WORLD and owner of petscii.de, specializing in PETSCII art.
- Logiker: creator of the AMSCII and ATASCII contests, and active contributor to the retro community.
