After a break of almost a year, programmer Fabrizio Caruso (Italy) surprises us again with his latest creation: “Trex”, a tribute to the iconic Chrome dinosaur game, now available for classic systems.
Trex is a clever adaptation of the popular minigame that appears in Google's browser when there is no internet connection. In this version, players control a cute pixelated dinosaur that must jump over obstacles in a desert environment. With a simple yet addictive gameplay, users must press the space bar or the fire button to make the dinosaur jump and avoid colliding with oncoming cacti or dodging pterodactyls.
Caruso's impressive repertoire of games spans a wide range of genres and styles. Among his most notable creations are the shooters "Stinger" and "Cross Shoot", the action games "Cross Horde", "Cross Snake", "Cross Bomber", "Shuriken" and "Cross Chase", as well as the challenging "Cross Verbix". Each of these titles demonstrates the Italian developer's versatility and creativity in the field of retro programming. True to Caruso's style, Trex once again demonstrates the versatility of its CrossLib framework, supporting an impressive array of systems. The game can be played on around 200 different vintage machines, including Atari 8-bit computers, the Atari 5200 console, the Atari 7800 system, and even the Atari Lynx handheld.
