Fans of Atari 8-bit systems can now download the final version of «Robots Rumble», a game that combines arcade, puzzle and platform elements.

Following its debut at Lost Party 2024, the development team has been hard at work polishing the game. Lead programmer Tomasz "TeBe" Biela has revealed that the new version includes sound effects for robot movement and bomb explosions.

Additionally, players will now be able to enjoy title screen music, new in-game melodies, and specific themes for the robot's death, progressing to the next level, and ending the game.

On the other hand, gameplay has been enriched with a change of colors on the magnets, which now indicate which one is active, adding a strategic layer. The time counting system has also been optimized for a more precise experience.

As we previously reported on Atariteca, players will guide malfunctioning robots through levels filled with obstacles such as radioactive rocks and hostile guardians. Managing the magnets' energy is crucial, while moving platforms and teleporters ensure the action stays exciting.
This project is the result of the joint effort of the team consisting of Tomasz "TeBe" Biela (programming), Miguel Ángel "Miguetelo" Tejedor López (graphics), Michał "Miker" Szpilowski (music) and David "flipation" Saavedra (loading screen).

Originally created by Digital Monastery for the Commodore 64 in 2019, Robots Rumble now shines on Atari 8-bit systems. Those interested in playing it should note that this title requires a VBXE card to run properly.
