A space journey through narrative is what "Kolumbovia" offers us, the new text game developed by Peter "Pedro" Jochec for Atari 8-bit computers.
Based on the children's book "Columbus from the base of Ganymede" written in the 1980s by the pioneer of Slovak science fiction Jozef Žarnay, this work takes us on a fascinating intergalactic adventure.
In “Kolumbovia,” a small rock flying through space damages a spaceship’s electronic systems. Of the 800 crew members, only a group of children manage to wake up from artificial sleep; and the player takes control of two of them. The mission: survive and solve the problems that arise as they navigate the cosmos in search of a solution.
Jochec, known in the Atari community for his passion and dedication, has managed to complete this project with the same familiarity and affection with which he referred to little Atari in the nineties.
Kolumbovia promises to be an immersive and nostalgic experience for those who enjoy text adventures and classic science fiction.
