For the second consecutive year, the Santiago de Chile Library will be the setting for Expo Atari 2024, an event that promises to attract major exhibitors and retro video game lovers on August 3 and 4 of this year.

Located near the Quinta Normal metro station, this exhibition has become an essential meeting point for all Atari enthusiasts. As in 2023, the Atari Expo promises memorable experiences for Atari fans, with free admission for all audiences.

Atari Expo 2024 will bring together leading exhibitors from the Atari scene, who will share their passion and knowledge of these classic systems. Robert Jaeger, creator of the legendary "Montezuma's Revenge" (Parker Brothers, 1984), Peter Liepa, from "Boulder Dash" (First Star Software, 1984), and Howard Scott Warshaw, responsible for the controversial "E.T The Extraterrestrial" (Atari Inc., 1982) and "Yar's Revenge" (Atari Inc., 1981), will participate via video conference.

At the local level, Sergio Boassi, creator of the popular hacks «Draconus 2», «Draconus 3» and «Zybex 2» will attend; Vladimir"VHZC" Zuñiga, independent developer of several games for the Atari 2600 console; and Victor"Vitoco" Stop, whose games have won several editions of the BASIC Ten-Liners contest. Also invited were representatives of the well-known company Prisma Soft, the legendary programmer Ismael "Parche Negro" Gutiérrez and Nestor "Netol" Mercado, among others. In addition, there will be the presence of ATARIBOT, the first teleoperated entertainment robot in Chile.

As in the 2023 edition, Atari 800XL and 130XE computers, tape decks, disk readers, plotters, printers and the Atari XEGS console will be on display, among others. In addition, there will be an area dedicated to other retro machines such as the Commodore 64, Sega Master System, Nintendo NES, etc. Atari Expo 2024 will include a special lab dedicated to those enthusiasts who enjoy sharing with friends, bringing their Ataris to show off new technologies and software developed by themselves.

It is worth remembering that in 2023, more than 600 people attended and visited the various stands dedicated to retro games. Attendees were able to enjoy games in beloved titles such as «World Karate Championship» (Epyx, 1986), and an exciting game championship was held. For this year, the "Atari Challenger" has been launched, a challenge to the best female players who dare to achieve the best possible score in any classic title on the platform. There will also be competitions for «Pac Man», «Space Invaders», «H.E.R.O.», «Arkanoid», etc.

Finally, there will be a tribute to Carol Shaw, the first woman in the world to develop video games; she programmed "River Raid" (Atari Inc., 1982) - the famous shoot'em up whose sales exceeded one million units.
