Seven new games, created under the theme of "camera", is what "Grawitacja 2024" left us,game jamdeveloped from 6 to 7 April 2024 in Krakow (Poland).
According toAtariOnline.pl portal reviews, attendees at the sixth edition of the event evaluated the productions, awarding them from 0 to 9 points in five categories: compliance with the theme, graphics, music, innovation and playability.
First place went to “BoberDash”, developed by Krystian "Salmax" Walczyk, "Marduk" and Michał "stRing" Radecki, racking up 7.47 points. In this game, we control a beaver who must avoid being detected by surveillance cameras. The party version includes 8 levels, but Salmax promises many more in the final version.
In second place was “Run, Fox, Run!”, created by Wojtek "Bocianu" Bocianski, Adam Wachowski and Piotr "LiSU" Lis, with 7.42 points. The game is about a fox that runs frantically through the forest, dodging trees and camera traps that blind him for a few seconds.
Third place went to “Jail”, by Mariusz "Mq." Ejchsztet and Krzysztof Kaźmierczak, with 6.76 points. The hero of the classic game «Submission» is sent to prison and we must help him escape by hiding in the shadows.
«CODE BROWN», developed by Marek "Koala" Ogłodek, Piotr "LiSU" Lis, Piotr "Piesiu" Radecki and Rafał "Raphis" Szczytko, came in fourth with 6.65 points. In this game, set in the year 2068, we must deal with a bathroom emergency while dealing with malfunctioning devices in our apartment.
In fifth place is BumBumBox by Paweł "PeBe" Banaś, Grzegorz "SuN" Żyła and Filip "Zoltar X" Golewski with 6.10 points. This is an unfinished music game where you have to react in time to falling notes.
In sixth place was “Kolonoskopia u Grzegorza” (Colonoscopy with Grzegorz), developed by mgr. Rafał, with 5.38 points. In this unusual medical experience, we have to help a patient retrieve a trophy using an endoscope.
And in seventh place was “Z kamerą wśród ośmiornic” (With a camera among octopuses), created by Paweł "Paw" Gugała, with 5.26 points. This game immerses us in the depths of the ocean, where we must keep an octopus within the camera's field of view for a few seconds.
It is worth remembering that the name of the game jam translated from Polish means "gravitation". For 36 hours, teams of programmers, graphic designers and musicians were tasked with writing a game for any 8-bit platform.
