After surprising us with his ports of «Barnstorming» and «Frostbite», user "Glurk" from the AtariAge forum offers us his version of «Fishing Derby» (Activision, 1980) for Atari XL/XE series computers.
In this classic game from the Atari 2600 console, two fishermen compete to be the first to collect fish from a lake, weighing a total of 99 pounds. That would be easy, if it weren't for the hungry shark that threatens to steal their catch.
"I think it would be a mistake to call it a work in progress, but maybe it is (...) There are still a lot more graphics to do, it's not my strong point. (The file) is playable, in a messy way," he said.in the AtariAge forum
"Glurk" added that he was encouraged to try his hand at programming the Atari 8-bit kernel thanks to the recentport of «Cosmic Ark»(Imagic, 1982) performed by Avery "Phaeron" Lee.
