In just two weeks, AtariAge forum user "Glurk" completed the port of "Frostbite" (Activision, 1983) for Atari XL/XE series computers.

The author dubbed his version of the unique game - originally released for the Atari 2600 console - "Frostbite 400." "It's a cartridge image that runs on 8K of RAM," he said.in the AtariAge forum

Such asWe reported in Atariteca, "Glurk" released a pre-release version before Christmas, which was missing animations for the protagonist, as well as collision detection with most enemies.

Days later, he published the version compatible with Atari 400 computers. And shortly after, he took on the task of implementing versions in XEX format for computers with the PAL video standard.

"The problem is that I converted it from a 4K Atari 2600 game, and it has the colors hard-coded everywhere and they're critical to the program code, which is used in calculations. So I would have to change all the color values that are in all the code and compile a new version, which is a lot of work. Then I would have two separate codebases to keep in sync," he explained.

Last November, "Glurk" released the port of "Barnstorming", which, like "Frostbite", was the work of Steve Cartwright (USA).
