After hisapotheotic launch at the end of October, YouTube was flooded with videos of the long-awaited port of «Prince of Persia» (Brøderbund Software, 1989) for Atari XL/XE series computers.
Using theRapidus turbo cardPaweł "nowy80" Nowak (Poland) found that the game runs up to 20% smoother and faster. This makes animations more dynamic, particularly during combat. He also found differences in sound effects.
The RetroComputo channel shows us how the port loads on real hardware (Atari 130XE). Below is a small side-by-side comparison between the PC version on a 486 computer with Windows operating system and the version for Atari 8-bits.
Vin "VinsCool" Samuel (Canada), who contributed music to the project, shares a video with the slightly altered soundtrack, and also includes some tunes that were left unreleased due to memory limitations.
Finally, the Shauing channel used the Altirra emulator to record aspeed runcomplete, where you can see the game from beginning to end... in just half an hour!
