«Barnstorming» port developed for Atari 8-bit computers

A user of the AtariAge forum is developing a version for Atari XL/XE series computers of the unique game «Barnstorming» (Activision, 1982).

You must pilot a biplane through a series of barns in the shortest time possible, which is made more difficult by the fact that you will have to avoid windmills, weather vanes and flocks of geese.

"Glurk" started this project at the end of April this year, when he shared a first demo of this port of the game for the Atari 2600 console; and then added the airplane controls.

After seven months without any news, it reappeared to present a new trailer; using the original code from Steve Cartwright - author of the title.

In the last week, it added sounds, collision detection, a timer and even the option to choose between four difficulty levels - which increase the number of barns the biplane must pass through.

Activision awarded a membership and a patchFlying AcesAny player who submitted evidence of achieving a time equal to or less than 33.3 seconds at Level 1; 51.0 seconds at Level 2; or 54.0 seconds at Level 3.
