Dazzling colors in Albert platformer

Stunning 50-color on-screen displays and large, high-resolution sprites are the main features of "Albert," a groundbreaking platform game for Atari 8-bit computers.
"Albert" has 30 levels, where the protagonist must collect all the diamonds to advance. Something that would be easy, if it weren't for the enormous insects that guard each gem and drain your energy at every contact.
Janusz "Kski" Karmański - the author of the prodigy - explains that he undertook this project to find out if MadPascal could be an alternative to assembly language; and at the same time, to find out how much the Atari computers could be pushed to in terms of graphics.
"The game allowed me to achieve these goals and I learned a lot while creating it. It gave me a better understanding of what's going on at the Atari, although there are still some ideas that need to be tested," he said. on the Polish portal AtariOnline
At the start, the player can use the keys 1 through 3 to select game controls. The space bar allows you to pause the action. The OPTION key also turns music and sound effects on and off.

The full game requires a computer with 128k RAM. On machines with 64k, the first three stages will run without all graphics.
The project involved Jarek "Odyn1ec" Wyszyñski, Triplex and Krzysztof "Kaz" Ziembik (graphics and animations). On the AtariAge forum, "Kaz" left open the possibility that the company Retronics will release the game in a box. He also revealed that "Kski" is already working on "Albert II"; although he clarified that the sequel, although it is a continuation of the story, will technically use a different engine, with "more possibilities and fewer limitations."
