After a hiatus of more than five years, the prestigious Atari User magazine returns with its 29th issue, dedicated to the development of the new Atari VCS 800 console.

It is expected that around 10,000 units will be distributed before the end of the year among those who supported Atari's fundraising campaign through the Indiegogo platform. The device will have 8GB of RAM and will be offered in two color schemes (onyx or wood).

This issue also features a detailed review of The Eidolon, the classic first-person exploration game from LucasFilms Games. Also of note are the nearly twelve-page reviews of titles such as Demon Attack, Mad-Netter, Spider City (400/800); Cloudburst (XL/XE); Pole Position II, Space Invaders (7800); A-VCS-Tec Challenge (2600) and Castle Crisis (5200), among others.

We will also find a report on the repair of an Atari 600XL in a sorry state, as well as recommendations for proper maintenance of the Atari 1050 floppy disk drive.

Kieren Hawken reviews the documentary "World 1:1" - billed as the first in a series of historical looks at the video game industry from an American perspective - and delves into an extensive analysis of the game Columns on various Atari platforms.

Finally, “Jock” Moresby returns to IN-DEV with more notes on ports and homebrews such as Stunt Car Racer, Wonder Boy, Culmins and I Ran.

Those interested can order the Atari User magazine through their websitehttp://www.atariuser.comfor $5.95 per digital copy.
