VÃctor "Vitoco" Parada (Chile) appears at NOMAM's BASIC 10-liners with "Mini Bros", a unique variation of the classic Mario Bros. (Atari, 1988) for Atari 8-bit computers.
Just like the original, we must flip the turtles by hitting them from the bottom and kicking them before they bite us.
However, despite the limitations imposed by the contest, "Mini Bros" supports two players simultaneously; that is, Mario and Luigi can collaborate or compete in the same game!
As Parada explainson their website, was inspired by the Mario Bros port for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum, called "Pietro Bros". "I thought it might be interesting to try and get it down to 10 lines of code, so I drew up a prototype in a workbook for ANTIC 5 mode."
Like the port, he wanted to give credit to Mario's brother, so the first name of his game was "Luigi Bros", and the sprites were made in green as the main color.

"Vitoco" used the Atari FontMaker v1.3.5 program by Slovakian Martin "MatoSimi" Å imecek to design the sprites. He also wrote the respective code using FastBasic 3.4; he did not use a single line of machine language.
Mini Bros is competing in the EXTREME-256 category of the eighth edition of the annual competition that seeks the best game programmed with a maximum of ten (10) lines of code in BASIC.

The deadline for submitting entries is Saturday, March 30 at 18:00 (GMT). To date, there are 30 games for different 8-bit systems. To meet the other contestants, you can visit theOfficial Twitter account for NOMAM's BASIC Ten-Liners 2019
