We share the alpha version of Flimbo's Quest for Atari, a 2D platform game that won the Games category at the Silly Venture 2018 retrofestival.
The player takes the role of Flimbo, who must collect all of the scrolls of the wizard Dazz Bazian, scattered across Dewdropland, in order to rescue his beloved Pearly from the clutches of the evil scientist Fransz Dandruff.
This is a port by Jaroslaw "Solo" Padula, Waldek "Laoo" Pawlaszek (code) and Michael "Miker" Szpilowski (music), grouped under the name New Generation.
The version presented at SV2K18 has two levels and requires a computer with 512Kb of memory. Despite this, it won first place at the festival - held from November 2 to 4 in the city of Gdansk (Poland) - with 828 points.

In the coming months, the authors hope to release a beta version with more sprites on the screen, as well as the full levels, enemies, and gameplay logic.
The goal is for the final product to be able to run from a cartridge on a 130XE computer or one with 256kb of memory. There will also be a version with alternative colors.

Flimbo's Quest was originally released on System 3 for the C64, Amiga, Atari ST and Amstrad CPC in 1990.
In the following posts we will announce the other winners of Silly Venture 2018, the tenth edition of the largest retrofestival of the year in Europe related to the different Atari platforms.
