    Millionaire won the ABBUC 2018 retro contest

    This Saturday the results of the Atari Bit Byter User Club - ABBUC 2018 retro contest were published, giving this year's winner toMillionaire game


    Inspired by the popular TV game show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?", which featured a multiple-choice question and answer format, Millionare won with 440 points.


    Marek "MaPa" Pavlík, Zdeněk "PG" Eisenhammer and Andreas "Charlie Chaplin" Koch will be taking part in the project. There are two versions of the game: the one that was entered into the ABBUC competition (with questions in German and English) and another one with questions only in the latter language. In addition, the developers have shared a game builder that allows you to create sets of questions.

    Second place went toKowalsky's Furywith 384 points. This is a colorful action game with completely randomly generated levels. In each game there are 90 locations, in which there are 7 servers that the player must destroy.


    The project was led by Polish programmer Kamil "Gorgh" Trzaska, with Raphis and renowned musician Michal "Caruso" Brzezicki also participating. Trzaska shared a version that fixes a few bugs and errors, as well as adding a flashing map (at Adam Wachoswki's suggestion).

    With 329 points, third place went toSki-it alpine ski setfrom Jason "therealbountybob" Kendall. It offers three game modes: traditional slalom, downhill and "SkiQuest," with 20 rounds of exciting challenges that include ski jumps to grab bonuses. Unfortunately, it is unknown if the creator will release his game - which is known to have some serious bugs to work out.


    Finally, fourth place went to Slovak programmer Martin “MatoSimi” Å imecek and Jose Pereira withthe unique Black Bouncy Blob(309 points).


    As a review“MatoSimi” himself on his blog, the game took him just a week to develop. Black Bouncy Blob uses the fire button as the only control - it activates a special jump (long jump or high jump). "I'm working on the extended version," he said.
