After a year of work, Jason "therealbountybob" Kendall registered his Ski-It alpine skiing game at the ABBUC 2018 Retrocontest.

The program offers three game modes: traditional slalom, downhill and "SkiQuest", with 20 rounds of exciting challenges that include ski jumps to capture bonuses.

The controls are simple: you move the stick back and forth to accelerate or decelerate, respectively; and you press the fire button to jump over obstacles.

Ice can hamper your movement; crashing into trees is also not a good idea. At the end, the top 10 scores can be saved to disk via DOS.

Eric Henneke (music), Frederik "freetz" Holst (MidiJoy hardware) and Nelson "NRV" Ramirez (title screen) participated in the project. In addition, acomplete instruction manualin PDF with illustrations by Mike Pruett and Jo-Anne McAllister.

Ski-It requires a computer with 48K of RAM. It supports both PAL and NTSC video modes. Kendall admits that the program may have some bugs.

"I'm worried that there's a serious memory leak that could cause it to crash," he admitted.
