Mini-Slots, slot machine game for Atari

Paul "MrFish" Fisher this week shared the binary version of mini-Slots, his game for Atari computers that simulates a mechanical slot machine from the 1940s.
The project dates back to late 2016, when Fisher – who worked in the gambling industry years ago – expressed interest in recreating the various gambling machines available in a casino.
MiniSlots replicates a classic three-reel machine from Herbert Mills, using authentic payout multipliers. "This is a commercial machine, but from a time when things were simpler, and yet still advanced for its time," he said on the AtariAge forum.
However, unlike the original which accepted coins of 5, 10 and 25 cents, in miniSlots the bets range from 10 to 50 USD. Likewise, "MrFish" readjusted the jackpot to start at USD 150 and go up to USD 2000.
The program was written in Turbo BASIC XL, while the graphics - initially based on Pac-Man fruits - were written in Antic 4 graphics mode, since they use square pixels.
To forumers who ask about the lack of music, Fisher responds: "I'm going for the man-machine experience, where only sheer willpower keeps you going (...) Seriously, I wasn't planning on using music for this game (it's planned for the full game). I still want to add some stuff to it, but it'll be some time before that happens."
