Juan "Donlupi" Neculpan (Chile) shares a video of a modified Atari computer with components that radically speed up the SIO port.
As explained to Atariteca, it is an EPROM with OS-ROM that replaces the original BIOS chip CO61598B. In this way, the transfer rate is tripled from the normal 19200 bauds per second (bps) to 57600 bps.
As seen in the images, the games Zybex (Zeppelin Games, 1988) and Karateka (Brøderbund Software, 1985) load in less than 15 seconds.via a SIO2PC cable that connects to a laptop with the AspeQt program
"Don Lupi" specifies that RespeQT or any software that supports a higher bit rate than the original can also be used. Likewise, the modificationWorks with your other Atari software loading project via Bluetooth wireless connection
