Lotharek is developing an improved and expanded version of SIDE 3, a device for Atari computers that allows an SD memory card to be used as a hard drive.

Through his personal Facebook account, Przemyslaw Krawczyk - manager of the Polish company - shared the first digital image of the prototype of the device.

Like its predecessor, SIDE 2, simply insert the cartridge that houses the printed circuit (PCB) into the computer slot and turn on the machine to access the SD.

The cartridge includes a special version of theSpartaDOS X operating system; supports disk images (ATR) and executables (XEX, COM).

Among its new features, Krawczyk said that Side 3 will have two MBs of built-in memory; it will also run cartridge files (ROM), as well as cartridge files withcompilations of programs in ATRAX format

This interface has been in development for three years and is expected to be available by the end of next October. It will cost around 61.49 euros.
