New levels revealed for Atari 8-bit's 'Jumpman'

Rob McMullen and Kevin Savetz joined forces to disassemble, document and hack "Jumpman", the beloved platform game published by Epyx (1983).

On the AtariAge forum, they have uploaded files with some advanced levels - which were originally completely dark or whose structure changed without the player being able to see them.

Among the results of this reverse engineering process, they enabled the demo level for play. To top it off, they created a brand new level - the first for Jumpman since it was written by Randy Glover 33 years ago.

"This week, Kevin and I will be releasing a version of the game that will allow you to practice any level in the game. I just finished the code for the new menu, and it's going to be ready to play," McMullen said.

As for the documentation, they already have 26 pages and their idea is to release it to the public. It should be remembered that McMullen and Savetz are responsible for the Atari Player/Misile podcasts andAncient, respectively.
