Peter J. Meyer posted the first video of«Laser Blast X», an improved version for Atari 8-bit computers of the Atari 2600 console's shoot 'em up (Activision, 1981).

On the AtariAge forum, Meyer clarified that the game's title is still preliminary. "If there are any issues with the name, we already have an alternate version. Video 61 has not started making the cartridges and also does not have a release date until the box art and manual are ready. Whenever we contact companies, they usually respond that they are not concerned because we are producing for an obsolete platform."

He confessed the reason why he seems to be a prolific programmer. "It's because I had a lot of games started over the years and I finally decided to finish a few (...) I use a common template for the kick-off, along with a "copy and paste" of code from other finished programs. Such practices are very common in the computer programming industry."

Finally, he said that the shooter Laser Blast may well be the last "clone" for another console. "I had to postpone Ladybug, Mouse Trap and Zookeeper because they had music pieces and I needed someone like (Sal Esquivel) "KJMANN12" who has a good ear for playing arcade game music. I'm focusing on finishing other games I've already started before I can start anything else."
