Mariusz "Mariuszw" Wojcieszek (Poland) presented the final version of his port for Atari 8-bit computers of the game«The Great Escape»(Ocean, 1986).
This is an isometric action-adventure game where you play a prisoner of war whose goal is to escape from a German concentration camp without being discovered.
"The game has been ported from the C64 version; however, the code has been optimized and it is also using the features of the Atari hardware, so its performance is about three times better than it was on Commodore," Wojcieszek points out.

«The Great Escape» requires 64 KB of RAM to run and supports both PAL and NTSC modes. The final version was tested on the Altirra emulator, but should run fine on real hardware. The music also uses POKEY stereo, but should run in POKEY mono as well.
Participating in this project were Jose Pereira (loading screen, credits screen), Filippo "Philsan" Santellocco (title screen), Marek “Poison” Pesout (opening song) and Bartłomiej "Wieczór" Wieczorkowski (sound effects).
It should be noted that "Mariuszw" has been developing the ports of«Fairlight: A Prelude»(EDGE, 1985) and«Total Eclipse»(1988/89 - Incentive Software).
