Adam Wachowski shared images of the title screen of "Laura", a game in development for the Atari XL/XE computers, on the AtariOnline.pl portal.

The project involves the programmerArkadiusz "Larek" Lubaszka-author of manygames in Turbo BASIC XLunder the name "ArSoft Corporation"; together withPawel "Ripek" Szewczyk(graphics) andBartÅ‚omiej “Wieczór” Wieczorkowski(music).

"Laura"combineselements from other titlesasRobbo(by Michael Smith),Boulder Dash(First Star Software, 1984) andHector(published by Lubaszka in 1999). However, unlike his previous projects, this one has been done withassembler codeand displays mixed graphics modes on screen.

It is worth remembering thatLaurawaspresented in April 2010In 2012, "Larek" made the radical decision torewrite it completely from scratch

Over the years, Lubaszka sharedimages and videoson its official websiteThe final version will feature32 levelsand will be developed inthree graphically distinct "worlds"-which will require acomputer with 128KB of RAM

To speed up the work, Lubaszka developed several tools; such asLEO $ 4+, aAtari 4 graphical character editor. Likewise, aconstructor programbaptized as"Laura Builder", which allows you to create levels forLaura

Wachowski points out that thetitle screenwhich starts this article as well as the graphics in the old videoswill change completelyin the final version. These images were made by Larek himself; precisely, thetwo other imagesWhat we share are the "official graphics"designed by "Ripek" Szewczyk. Finally,It is likelybefore the game is publishedbefore the end of the year
