    Terrence "Tezz" Derby presented Chimera+, a fully enhanced version of the original classic Firebird platformer (1985) for the Atari 8-bit computers.


    With the aim ofoptimize performancefrom the game, Derbyrewrote the code from scratch. The biggest result: thespaceman(yes, it was not a robot!) has aindependent colorand it ismoves considerably fasterthat in the version scheduled byShahid Ahmad

    Likewise, it isThey added details that didn't make it into the Atari XL/XE version, like theMelodies composed by Rob Hubbardfor the start and end of the game.


    Also the main character ismoves dynamically according to the direction marked on the joystickand no longer by the method of "first rotate, then advance". Apart from that, theroomsThey now exhibit anew multi-color patternand they are not just variations of the same color as in the original.

    As if that were not enough, "Tezz" added thedigitized voices from the Commodore 64 versionand included anew title screen-which is a mix of the Atari and C64 versions. You can find more differences by comparing it with theoriginal version
