In several posts we have paid unquestionable homage toThalamusik, an immortal composition by Rob Hubbard and which many Atari fans will remember best for theintro of The Extirpator!(Firebird, 1988).
Searching on the Internet, we discovered thatHubbard acknowledgedthat an album by the brilliant French composerJean Michel Jarreinspired him to compose Thalamusik. We are referring toZoolook, Jarre's fourth album and considered by his fans to be one of his most successful albumsmore experimental
"There were only two tracks that I liked from that album (Zoolook). I think thesynth soloofSanxion(the Commodore game for which he originally composed Thalamusik) is very melodic, even after all these years," Hubbard said. Here's the video for the title track from Jarre's album.
