We share a rather intriguing trick: a (so far failed) game hidden inside Chimera (Firebird, 1985).

To activate it, you have to putpause, pressing thespace bar

On the pause screen, we press the keysSelect, OptionandStartF2,F3,F4together. We will be shown the following screen, of the game calledA Different Kettle of Fish(which translated is something like "A totally different topic"), written byShahid Ahmad

PressingOption (F3)you can change thedifficultyof the game. The detail: for some reason, the program (and therefore, the emulator)hangsif you try to play it. You can test it by pressing thetrigger buttoneitherStart (F4)

Note.-I managed to communicate withRichard HewinsonofMemories of Telecomsoft-which now houses the entire collection ofFirebird- and he tells me that the gamerun wellin the8-bit computer. You just need to use the joystick to move right and left and press the fire button.

As for the version for emulators, it seems that only theold xf2000allows you to see, for just a fewbrief moments, what the game is about.

Finally, the ownAhmadremember: "There was ahelicopterat the top of the screen. And at the bottom, manyfishof different colors, where the helicopter dropped akettleThe objective was to get through the fish and reach thebackground

Update:We have located agame fix, so now we can enjoyA Different Kettle of Fish. You can download itfrom this link

The problem is not the emulators but the program that crashes, as it appears on Wikipedia:

"Unfortunately the bonus game crashes on the Atari 800 due to a programming error."

It would be necessary to test it on a real a800 to rectify.
The case gives rise to controversy, since Wikipedia itself contradicts itself: "the player received a key combination which is intended to grant access to a bonus game, in which the player has to shoot on a row of items"... If the game crashes as soon as it starts, how do we know about its mechanics?

The programmer claims that the game in question runs without problems on an Atari. As you mentioned, it would be a good idea to try it. Anyone interested?
doesn't work on a real atari either.
(even if it is the versions that are on atarionline.pl)
Here is the fix to see the hidden game, plus a screenshot of it:
